Curlewis is presently riding high on a crest of popularity. Its owners fell in love with the more funky and wild expressions of Burgundy, then wanted to make similar wines in Australia.
They also felt that the only way to make an initial impact in the market was to pursue an extremely rustic style.
This they have done, but their wines are now showing more class as they become more vibrant and less risky, without compromising their intentions of making pinots of structure, richness and complexity.
