The small Tamar Valley vineyard of Grey Sands produces what I believe to be Australia's finest Pinot Gris – a bright, translucent and savoury wine of genuine perfume and texture, which bounced back into top form in 2009 with a musky, spicy release. At this stage, the Pinot Noir is not as convincing.
