Pernod Ricard Pacific, have decided to reinvest in its Morris vineyards to develop an iconic series of table and fortified wines. The results are beginning to show in a reinvention of what makes Rutherglen reds unique.
The historic trio of Shiraz, Durif and Cinsaut (which until the 2008 release was known by its pseudonym of Blue Imperial) are steadily acquiring more depth, structure and character. Some handy winemaking also ensures their balance and longevity.
It is refreshing to see the family link being retained by Pernod Ricard under the invaluable guidance of 5th generation winemaker David Morris. The Old Premium Liqueur Rare Muscat is real treat and a relentlessly consistent wine show performer.
