Tapanappa focuses on three specific South Australian terroirs. First of these is the Tiers vineyard in the Piccadilly Valley, which is owned by Brian Croser and also provides the fruit for Petaluma's flagship Tiers Chardonnay. Second is the old Koppumurra vineyard in the heart of what is now Wrattonbully in the state's southeast. This has been renamed as the Whalebone Vineyard, and is home to a Merlot and the Cabernet Shiraz. The third site is an exclusively Pinot Noir development on an elevated northwest slope in the southern Fleurieu region.
