The Barwang vineyard is a dry and isolated site that has proven capable of producing excellent wine from a range of different varieties. While it's a shame that circumstances now see some wines under this label blended with material from Tumbarumba, an entirely different part of the world, the brand for I guess that is what it is becoming) has released a deep, dark and very stylish Shiraz from 2008. Its leading Chardonnay is now given the 842 label, and is sourced from Tumbarumba.
