Simon Clayfield is an experienced and talented maker of Victorian red wines, and under his own label he crafts classically elegant and exotically spiced Shiraz of considerable longevity, although recent vintages have seen some riper efforts.

Clayfield sources shiraz from a number of tiny sites in the Grampians region of southwest Victoria. At their best, these can reveal similar hallmarks to very fine expressions from the northern Rhone.
