Grove Estate is planted on a property near Young that was also home to a vineyard originally planted in 1886. Celebrated Clonakilla winemaker Tim Kirk has been responsible for the shiraz-based wines since 2003, which included viognier for the first time in 2006. The two latest releases show some pedigree. While the other labels would also benefit from similar attention to detail, it's clear that the vineyard has struggled with recent climatic challenges.
