One of the larger operations in the Yarra Valley, Lillydale is owned by the McWilliam family. While its wines are typically elegant, flavoursome and ready to drink at or shortly after release, it would be interesting to see what this highly capable wine producer could achieve if it decided to take the brand upmarket. Yet again, the spicy, floral and racy Gewürztraminer is my pick of the current releases.
