The purchase in 1985 of a 220 - hecta re property situated between Lancefield & Kilmore on the Great Dividing Range in Central Victoria, Australia saw the beginnings of Mount William Winery.
Paddocks that once carried sheep and cattle then were cultivated and turned to growing acres of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. These were soon to be followed by Cabernet Franc, Semillion and most recently Merlot.
The sheep and Angus cattle have not disappeared and still play an important role in the general farming program with the sheep doubling as organic weed controllers in the vineyard over winter.
