Pooley wines is very much a family affair. The property is based around an historic Georgian home 'Belmont Lodge' and two separate vineyards in the Coal River Valley in southern Tasmania. The Coal River Valley has developed a worldwide reputation, and is ideally suited, for the production of cool-climate wines such as Pinot, Riesling and Chardonnay. Under the experienced winemaking guidance of Anna Pooley, the estate's wines have developed a loyal following of those in search of high quality, consistent, cool climate styles - in particular the Butchers Hill Pinot Noir is well worth seeking out.
